Our cooperative model

Our cooperative model at Eurial Ingredients & Nutrition – the B2B division of Eurial, the dairy arm of the Agrial Group – is based on a simple idea: a supply chain is best managed when those who keep it alive are genuinely involved in decision-making. Our member producers are represented and actively involved in Eurial’s strategy, working to build a model focused on the long term with high-quality products.

In practical terms, our cooperative model creates a framework that provides security and structure for the sector by linking the field to governance. This enables us to draw on strong cooperative values: sustainability, local engagement, boldness and solidarity. These values shape our day-to-day decisions and practices, and are shared by our staff, members and partners.

The rationale behind Eurial’s cooperative model ensures the long-term viability of farms, strengthens the resilience of the sector, and supports its transformation, particularly with regard to the challenges of quality, animal welfare and agroecological transition.

What our cooperative model means for our customers

Securing your supply and visibility

Our cooperative first and foremost secures the upstream supply chain by guaranteeing our member farmers a secure market for their produce, which stabilises the sector and strengthens your industrial visibility.

We collect over 2.3 billion litres of milk, of which 7 per cent is goat’s milk and 6 per cent is organic cow’s milk. This collection is supported by over 3,600 member producers.

For your purchasing needs, this means a well-structured supply chain, capable of withstanding unforeseen events and honouring its commitments over the long term.

Strengthening quality and compliance over the long term

Our approach to quality is based on standards, checks and on-the-ground support, which ensure robust compliance with all requirements (specifications, customer audits, market requirements, traceability and animal welfare).

Over 97 per cent of our members are committed to responsible practices through the Code of Good Farming Practice (cow’s milk) and the Mutual Code of Good Practice (goat farming). We also work in partnership with the NGO CIWF on animal welfare.

Accelerating innovation and formulation performance

Our collaborative model fosters a long-term vision that is essential for innovation: it secures the supply chain, enables investment, and aligns decisions with the creation of sustainable value.

For your R&D and formulation teams, we are a partner who proceeds methodically, balancing technical performance, quality requirements and CSR objectives. We are committed to continuous improvement, in line with your technical constraints and product performance objectives.

Meeting CSR and decarbonisation requirements

To meet our ambitious CSR targets, we support our farmers in reducing their environmental footprint at farm level, with practical measures and a robust system for monitoring progress.

This transition is underpinned by an operational framework: 300 field advisers working on farms on a daily basis, scientific and technical expertise (crop production, soil health, animal nutrition, seeds and crops, the environment, farm buildings, energy), a network of pilot farms operating under real-world conditions, dedicated product ranges and solutions (Climactiv, low-carbon nutrition), and decision-support tools and agricultural machinery.

Beyond supporting livestock farms, we are also taking action at our industrial sites as part of a continuous improvement programme. In particular, we are focusing on energy efficiency and the integration of renewable energy, managing water consumption, and reducing and recycling waste. This approach complements the actions taken upstream to meet our ambitious CSR requirements.

This approach also helps our customers and partners to further their own CSR plans, through practical initiatives and measurable progress monitoring.

How does our cooperative work?

More than 3,600 producers have chosen to join our cooperative to secure their market access. They are represented within four organisations, structured into catchment areas to strengthen local links with the cooperative’s services:

  • Regional Council (representing the regions, including section committees)
  • Production Council (representing member livestock farmers, including catchment area committees)
  • Processing Council (representing member farmers, with divisional supervisory boards)
  • Representation of young member farmers

In this way, farmers play an active role in strategic decision-making. On the Executive Committee, 29 agricultural directors represent the members. The strategy remains closely linked to the realities on the ground and the sector’s circumstances.

Co-operative life is also punctuated by key events that provide opportunities to endorse strategic directions, discuss challenges and drive the sector forward. In 2025, our various internal events and our participation in the World Milk Summit in Paris, in particular, enabled us to address fundamental issues such as decarbonisation and to highlight the strength of our co-operative model.

In addition to the cooperative model, our member farmers are also committed to quality standards: over 20 per cent are engaged in agroecological practices.

Furthermore, in the cow’s milk sector, we have 350 farms certified as Organic, and 200 farms with Charente Poitou PDO status and 30 with Bleu Blanc Cœur certification.

As for goat’s milk, 43 farms are certified organic and 170 hold AOP status, illustrating the sector’s organisation and its high standards.

Animal well-being: concrete and monitored commitments

In the context of animal welfare, Eurial – the dairy division of Agrial, of which Eurial Ingredients and Nutrition is a part – implements concrete measures based on recognised standards and monitoring procedures. By 2025, 100 per cent of cow’s milk farms will have been audited, and 100 per cent of goat’s milk farms will adhere to the Code Mutuel caprin.

Our approach is also co-developed with the NGO CIWF as part of a process of continuous improvement. To take early and sustainable action, we have put in place a procedure for identifying issues and providing technical, economic and social support. This procedure is complemented by training programmes and equipment catalogues to equip farmers and accelerate the uptake of best practice.
